uOASME is proud to present its Career Forum 2008!
Charlene Tung, who currently holds the vice-chair position on ASME Ontario's executive board as well as the Young Engineers' Chair position, will be joining us on the evening of October 16th. She will help young student engineers nearing graduation by sharing useful tips on how to apply for jobs, and provide information regarding fields of engineering which are currently in high demand. Charlene also works at GE Multilin as a Quality Control Engineer, and will be sharing with us her experience in working at GE Multilin.
UOASME has also invited Philippe Poitras. Having graduated as a Mechanical Engineer from the University of Ottawa, Philippe now works at the Orthopaedic Biomechanics Laboratory at the Ottawa General Hospital. To fulfil the growing curiosity of our Biomedical Mechanical Engineering students, Philippe will be discussing what types of jobs to expect as a Biomedical Mechanical Engineer, and what type of jobs are currently available in the market. Philippe will also be sharing some of his experience as a biomechanical researcher.
The UOASME has also invited 2 recent graduates from Mechanical Engineering to discuss what many graduating students refer to as the "dreadful" process of applying for a job by giving tips on how to apply, what companies look for. They will also share their personal experiences in finding a job
